E Banks

(19??-19??)

"Mr E Banks" was employed by British Animated Productions as a trainee Inbetweener circa June 1946, during the company's initial recruitment drive. By the end of the year he was promoted to Assistant Animator.

For production of The Old Manor House, he was made Head of the Inbetweening Department. A studio notice dated 8 September 1947 sets out the procedure to be followed "to avoid delays, mistakes, etc.":

When the Animators or Assistants have any scenes, or parts of scenes, ready for rough or clean-up inbetweening, it will be given to E. Banks.

When an Inbetweeneris finished working on a scene, or part of a scene, it will be returned to E. Banks for checking. He will return the scenes to the Assistant who will give it a final check before sending it to the Inking Dept.

He was among the staff laid-off in June 1948 when British Animated Productions, unable to achieve a satisfactory distribution agreement, temporarily ceased production. As it is not known whether he returned to work on the final 2 films (Home Sweet Home and Loch Ness Legend) I have not included them in the Filmography below.
